#EndSARS: Feminist Coalition Ask Protesters To Stay At Home

The Feminist Coalition, a leading organization behind the EndSARS protests in Nigeria, has advised young people to be patient with the protests and stay at home.

In a statement posted on social media, the group said it would no longer accept donations in the name of EndSARS and urged young people to comply with curfews imposed in other states.

The announcement is seen as a possible end to a two-week procession of youths on the streets that have also turned violent in some states such as Lagos and Edo.

The announcement comes five hours after President Muhammadu Buhari urged youths to stop protesting, saying continuing to do so would “jeopardize national security and is unacceptable”.

The organization says it has raised nearly $400,000 in donations from around the world, most of which has yet to be spent.

The US Embassy in Nigeria said its officials met with Nigerian Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday to express their concerns.
