Lauretta Onochie, a social media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari has alleged that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and their associates tried to change Nigeria’s government through the ‘back door.’
She further alleged that Dubai based Nigerian Instagram celebrity, Hushpuppi was also part of the schemings to effect a change in government through the back door in 2019.
Naija News reports Onochie made the allegation in a tweet via her verified Twitter handle on Sunday, 5th July where she posted a video alongside her claims.
She also listed former House of Reps Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, ex-Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, and others as people who were part of the scheme.
She wrote:
“The Dubai Strategy.#Hushpuppi was very prominent in the strategy to change the government of the federal Republic of Nigeria through the back door.@YakubDogara @DinoMelaye, Timi Frank and so on, were there. In spite of denials, we know them. There’s nothing hidden under the sun”

However, all those she mentioned in her tweet have openly denied such allegations, noting that the fact that they took pictures with Hushpuppi or were seen with him in video footages does not mean they were a party to his fraudulent activities.
Naija News recalls Hushpuppi was arrested by the Dubai Police for internet fraud running into several millions of dollars.
He has since been extradited to the United States of America where he is facing criminal charges.
