Arsenal Hope For Change Of Fortune
Arsenal interim manager, Freddie Ljungberg has spoken out after his side lost 2-1 to Brighton in their Premier League clash on Thursday night.
An Adam Webster goal had given Brighton the lead at the Emirates Stadium before Alexandre Lacazette equalised for the Gunners in the 50th minute of the match.
However, a Neal Maupay late goal gave the visitors all three points against Arsenal.
Speaking at his post-match press conference, Ljungberg was quoted by Football London as saying: “They looked scared to get the ball and were standing still.
“We are very passive in the first half and did a tactical change and then became the team we wanted to look like.
“We can’t give away a whole half in the Premier League.
“I was sure we were going to win that game but we got sucker-punched.
“It’s hard to take but we keep plugging away.”
He added: “If we score the first goal it’s totally different because you don’t have to chase.
“We’ve had one training session and we’re going to keep working.”
The Gunners will take on West Ham on the 9th of December as they seek to put an end to their current abysmal performances and get back to winning ways.
