The Presidency on Friday said President Muhammadu Buhari will not interfere in the emergence of the new leadership of the ninth National Assembly.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate) Ita Enang, disclosed this while addressing parliamentary reporters in Abuja.
He said the President believes so much in the rule of law, hence he would allow each arm of government to perform its constitutional responsibility without interference.
Naija News, however, recalls that Senator Ovie Omo-Agege had while speaking earlier in the year about how the National Assembly leadership for the ninth will emerge, stated that President Buhari will be involved.
The Independent National Electoral Commission on Thursday issued certificates of return to the newly elected lawmakers who will make up the legislative arm of government.
