9 Reasons CCT Arrest Order On Onnoghen Cannot Stand – Ozekhome

Human rights lawyer, Mike Ozekhome (SAN), has listed nine reasons the bench warrant issued by the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), against Justice Walter Onnoghen, the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), cannot stand.

Naija News recalls that the CCT had mandated the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, and the Director General, Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Magaji on Wednesday to effect  Onnoghen’s arrest.

Borno State governor, Kashim Shettima was today on his way to a political rally at Gamboru-Ngala in the state when his convoy was attacked by Boko Haram Terrorists. The Guardian Newspaper reports

2019 Election: PDP Sues INEC, Faults Its Decision On Card Reader

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has filed a suit against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the use of card readers for the general election.

In a suit filed before the federal high court in Abuja, the party asked the court to restrict INEC from postponing elections in any polling unit as a result of a malfunctioning card reader.

The Delta State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of plotting to manipulate and rig the forthcoming elections for President Muhammadu Buhari and All Progressives Congress (APC).

2019 Elections: AGF Malami Asks INEC To Postpone Elections In Zamfara, Gives Reasons

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami(SAN) has written to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) asking the commission to postpone the governorship, House of Assembly and National Assembly elections in Zamfara State to enable the All Progressives Congress (APC) to field candidates in the polls.

A copy of the three-page letter bearing Malami’s signature and dated February 13, 2019, with reference number MJ/DSD/03, emerged online on Thursday.

Shekarau Slams Kwankwaso, Describes Him As Absentee Senator

Former Governor of Kano State Ibrahim Shekarau has described Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso (PDP-Kano Central) as an absentee Senator associated with failure.

Speaking to newsmen on Wednesday, the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Kano Central Senatorial District boasted that he would have defeated Kwankwaso if he had contested against him, The Nation reports.
