Minimum Wage: NLC Suspends Strike, Agreed Figure To Be Announced Today
The Nationwide strike action proposed by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC) and United Labour Congress (ULC) have been halted indefinitely.
The action which was suppose to commence 12am on Tuesday was suspended on Monday Night after a closed door meeting of the Tripartite Committee on new minimum wage.
Shiites Storm Streets Of Katsina With Protest
A protest over the continuous detention of Shiites leader, Sheik. Ibrahim El-Zakzaky despite numerous court orders for his release has been staged on the streets of Katsina today by members of Islamic Movement of Nigeria.
The protest was also aimed at condemning recent attacks on its members by armed soldiers and other security personnel in Abuja.
Senate President, Bukola Saraki Vows To Probe Alleged NLNG Fund Diversion By The President
Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has assured the Nigerian populace of investigating the reason behind alleged diversion of the dividend from the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) to fund petroleum subsidy,Naija News understands.
Mr Saraki said the Senate, on resumption of plenary, will further probe the claims made before the Senate ad-hoc committee by the Group Managing Director of NNPC, Maikanti Baru, on how and why the corporation was diverting the dividend to defray the cost of under-recovery in the importation of fuel.
Minimum Wage: Be Considerate In Your Demands – Buhari Tells Labour
President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday begged the Leaderships of the Nigeria Labour Congress to be considerate in their demands, especially in view of the rot the government inherited from the previous government.
Buhari made the appeal when he received members of the Association of Retired Career Ambassadors of Nigeria led by Ambassador Oladapo Fafowora at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
EFCC Re-Arraigns Ladoja, Others Over N4.7bn Alleged Fraud
Former Oyo State Governor, Rashidi Ladoja, and his former Commissioner for Finance, Waheed Akanbi have been re-arraigned today by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Lagos for allegedly diverting the state’s funds.
Both defendant were alleged to have converted N4.7billion from the state treasury to their personal uses in an 11-count criminal charge of money laundering.
