Gunmen Abduct Imam, 10 Others In Suleja

Gunmen have abducted 11 people in Chaza area on the outskirts of Suleja in Niger State.

Niger State Police Spokesperson, CSP Sani Badarawa confirmed the incident.

Residents told Daily Trust that gunmen abducted an imam and 10 others from their homes.

Explaining, residents allege the suspension of the joint security patrol in the town allowed the attackers to attack.

In northern Nigeria, farmers have become targets of terrorists and other armed bandits. More than 78,000 of them have already had to abandon their farms. A tragedy that threatens the country’s food production.

Members of the Islamist sect Boko Haram, which has spread terror in parts of northern Nigeria since 2009, recently directed their attacks on farmers working in their fields. The last attack dates back to mid-September 2020 when these Islamists attacked three villages of Borno in the northeast of the country.
