1. Presidency Explains Absence At Meeting With South-South Governors, Stakeholders

The presidency has declared that it regrets the ‘unavoidable postponement’ of a scheduled meeting with governors, traditional rulers, and other stakeholders from the south-south region on Tuesday.

Presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu in a statement on Wednesday, explained that the federal government delegation could not appear at the meeting due to the emergency security meeting summoned by President Muhammadu Buhari.

2. Court Revokes Abdulrasheed Maina’s Bail, Orders His Arrest

A federal high court sitting in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory on Wednesday, revoked the bail of Abdulrasheed Maina, former Chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT).

The court presided over by Justice Okon Abang also ordered that Maina should be arrested by security agents wherever and whenever he is found.

3. CNN Release Independent Investigation Of Shootings Of #EndSARS Protesters In Lekki

An independent investigation conducted by CNN on the October 20th Shooting In Lekki, has been released by the American Television Broadcasting Station.

CNN shared footage of what appears to be soldiers shooting at the #EndSARS protesters who had gathered at the tollgate to press home their demands to end SARS as well as end police brutality.

4. Supreme Court Affirms Diri As Bayelsa Governor

Douye Diri of the Peoples Democratic Party has been affirmed on Wednesday as the duly elected Governor of Bayelsa State by a seven-man panel of the Supreme Court.

Justice Sylvester Ngwuta in his ruling dismissed the six appeals filed against Diri and his deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.

5. No Increase In Tax For Nigerians As FEC Approves 2020 Finance Bill

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday approved the Finance Bill 2020 at a virtual meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.

However, the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed has assured Nigerians that the bill which will now be forwarded to the National Assembly for consideration and approval will not increase the tax burden on Nigerians.

Particularly, she assured that there will be no increase in taxes and no increase in VAT.

6. IPPIS: FG Lying To Nigerians About ASUU Strike – Official

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has accused the federal government of sending wrong information and impression to members of the public regarding the lingering strike action by members of the union.

Uzo Onyibinama, ASUU Coordinator for the Owerri zone during a press briefing held at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State where he gave an update on the lingering ASUU strike, noted that the proposed migration to the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) is not the only reason for the strike.

7. You’re On Your Own – PDP Lawmakers In Ebonyi Mock Umahi

Lawmakers representing federal constituencies in Ebonyi State elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party have reacted to the defection of Governor Dave Umahi to the All Progressives Congress.

The federal lawmakers from the state on Wednesday noted that no member of the caucus is decamping.

8. Again, Okada Riders And Lagos Task Force Officials Clash

A fresh clash has broken out in Lagos State on Wednesday between commercial motorcycle operators popularly known as Okada and operatives of the Lagos State Task Force.

It was gathered that members of the task force and commercial motorcycle riders clashed on the Ikeja Along, Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway with the okada riders chasing away the taskforce operatives.

9. IGP Adamu Replies Retired General: You Lack Proper Understanding Of Policing Culture

The Nigeria Police Force has stated that its Inspector General, IGP Mohammed Adamu, is in firm control of the administration of the Force, contrary to the comment by Major General Garba Wahab (rtd).

Major General Wahad, a retired Army General and Director-General, Nigerian Army Resource Center, during an interview on Channels TV Sunrise Daily program which was held on November 13, had labeled the IGP as being incompetent.

10. AMCON Goes After Jimoh Ibrahim, Seizes Properties, Freezes Accounts Over N69.4 Billion Debt

The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) on Wednesday took over twelve assets and all bank accounts belonging to Jimoh Ibrahim, the Chairman of Global Fleet Group, over N69.4 billion debt.

The action was in pursuant to an order issued by Justice R.M. Aikawa of a Federal High Court, in Lagos.
