Edo: INEC Speaks On Postponing Elections By Two Weeks

The Independent National Electoral Commission, has reacted to the report a plan to postpone the governorship election in Edo State by two weeks due to issues relating to the outbreak of Coronavirus.

Recall that the electoral process in 2016 was postponed in 2016 by two weeks following concerns of insecurity.

The Chief Press Secretary to the commission, Rotimi Oyekanmi, on Monday, noted that the report has not iota of truth.

Oyekanmi further stated that the election will hold on September 19th.

“No, we are not shifting the date. We are, in fact, going to Benin for the Stakeholders’ meeting and the signing of the Peace Accord next week. The election will hold as scheduled on 19th September 2020.″

Edo2020: Obaseki Saved Me From The Hands Of Hired Assassins – Apostle Suleiman

The General Overseer of the Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman, on Sunday met with the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Edo State, Godwin Obaseki.

The Edo State Governor on Sunday visited Suleman’s Church, to receive prayers ahead of the September 19 Governorship Election.

The respected clergy also revealed how the Governor, saved him and his family from hired assassins in 2018.

Notorious Political Thug Arrested In Edo

A notorious political thug popularly called ‘Holyman’ has been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Army in Jattu town of Edo State.

Naija News reports that this is coming a few days before the Edo State Governorship election.

It was gathered that the political thug was arrested at Azama primary school in Jattu.

The arrest reportedly sparked jubilation among residents of the town.

The thug and his gang were allegedly seen shooting sporadically to disrupt a rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jattu earlier today.
