The Department of State Services (DSS) has debunked the report that the agency arrested the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu
However, a press release made available to Naija News by Peter Afunanya, the public relations officer of DSS revealed that Magu was never arrested.
2. FG Announces Date For WAEC Exams Amid Coronavirus In Nigeria
The Federal Government has announced that the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) examination will hold between August 4 and September 5, 2020, amid Coronavirus in Nigeria.
Naija News reports that the development was disclosed by the Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, at the ongoing Presidential Task Force COVID-19 Briefing in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
3. Akeredolu Didn’t Win The 2016 Governorship Election – Ex-SSG
Sunday Abegunde, the former Secretary to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, has revealed that the state Governor did not win the governorship election in 2016.
Abegunde who resigned his position on Monday further stated that the governor of Ondo State got in power through the help of some people.
4. Don’t Pay Anyone For Coronavirus Test – FG Warns Nigerians
The Federal Government on Monday called on Nigerians not to pay anyone for COVID-19 test, its called on Nigerians to report anyone who demands payment for such services.
The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire stated this while speaking at the daily briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Abuja.
5. 774,000 Jobs: NDE Will Implement Recruitment – Lawan
The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, on Monday announced that the plan to recruit 774,000 youths in Nigeria will be handled by the National Directorate of Employment,
The 774,000 youths across the country are to be recruited as part of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government COVID-19 palliative measures.
6. Akeredolu Fresh COVID-19 Test Result Revealed
Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has reportedly tested negative to the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).
Akeredolu confirmed he has recovered from the virus in his weekly press briefing on Monday.
According to the Ondo State Governor, doctors confirmed his negative status after running the test twice.
7. PSC Sacks 10 Senior Police Officers, Demotes Eight
The Police Service Commission (PSC) on Monday kicked out 10 senior police officers from the force and demoted eight others over various cases of misconduct.
This was made known in a statement by the Head, Press and Public Relations, of the PSC, Ikechukwu Ani.
8. New Group Emerges From APC NEC
Some members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have formed APC NEC – Integrity Group.
The group which emerged from the Non-National Working Committee of National Executive Committee (Non-NWC NEC) said its creation was in a bid to further sustain the repositioning efforts of the Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee (CEONCPC) of the APC.
9. Akeredolu Appoints “Tukana” As His New SSG
The Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has picked honourable Temitayo Oluwatuyi “Tukana” as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
Naija News learnt that Mr Akeredolu announced the appointment of Mr Oluwatuyi on his official Twitter page on Monday.
10. PDP Adopted Obaseki Because Of Its Interest In Edo State Treasury – Ganduje
Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State and the Chairman of the All All Progressive Congress National Campaign Council, has accused the Peoples Democratic Party of adopting the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki as it governorship candidate in the September 19 governorship election because he is in control of the state treasury.
The Kano State governor stated this while speaking with newsmen after the campaign council was inaugurated at the APC National Secretariat, Abuja, on Monday.
