CDC Reports 603 Cases Of Coronavirus In Nigeria, Breakdown Of Cases By State
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported fresh 603 cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.
Naija News reports that the NCDC confirmed the new 603 cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria in a series of tweets on the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Saturday evening, July 4.
According to the NCDC, of the four hundred and fifty-four new coronavirus cases recorded on Saturday evening, 135 were recorded in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city, Edo-87 FCT-73 Rivers-67 Delta-62 Ogun-47 Kaduna-20 Plateau-19 Osun-17 Ondo-16 Enugu-15 Oyo-15 Borno-13 Niger-6 Nasarawa-4 Kebbi-3 Kano-2 Sokoto-1 Abia-1, southeast Nigeria.
The NCDC tweeted: “603 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-135 Edo-87 FCT-73 Rivers-67 Delta-62 Ogun-47 Kaduna-20 Plateau-19 Osun-17 Ondo-16 Enugu-15 Oyo-15 Borno-13 Niger-6 Nasarawa-4 Kebbi-3 Kano-2 Sokoto-1 Abia-1 28,167 confirmed 11,462 discharged 634 deaths,” the tweet added.

So many Nigerians including the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari, have lost their lives to the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).
The virus that was first discovered in Wuhan, China, December last year is no respecter of status or political party.
Aside from Kyari, popular radio present, Dan Foster, former Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi amongst other notable Nigerians have died from complications of the virus.
At least seven of Nigeria’s 36 governors have also tested positive for coronavirus.
Ogun: Gov Abiodun Extends COVID-19 Lockdown
Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has extended the lockdown of worship centers and schools for another two weeks to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).
In a statement on Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, Governor Abiodun said available data shows the end of the virus is not close.
According to the governor, the state will continue to review and modify the guidelines in response to data from the field
He said: “This high level of prevalence may also be obtainable in other Local Governments as we ramp up testing. All this emphasises the need for us to exercise a high level of restraint as the State can neither afford more fatalities nor allow the rate of sickness to outnumber the capacity to manage the sick.
“Consequently, we are extending our current Phase of eased restrictions for another two weeks. As usual, we will continuously review and modify the guidelines in response to data from the field and expert opinions.”
