PDP Reopens Screening of Aspirants For Edo Gov’ship Primaries

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked the party screening committee to continue the screening of aspirants for the Edo State Governorship primaries.

This was made known on Friday by the PDP National Organising Secretary, Col. Austin Akobundu (Rtd) on behalf of the National Working Committee of the party.

The PDP said the screening exercise would continue today, Saturday, June 20 at the NWC Hall, Wadata Plaza, Abuja from 10 a.m. prompt.

“The committee is mandated to screen all aspirants for the upcoming 2020 governorship election in Edo,” he said.

Members of the screening committee include Mr Kingsley Chinda as Chairman, Boyele Debekeme as Secretary, Chief Oladimeji Fabiyi, Sen. Mrs. Joy Emordi, and Hajiya Aishat Hasindu as members.

Naija News recalls that Governor Obaseki had earlierCol. Austin Akobundu (Rtd) on Friday officially joined the PDP to contest the Edo Governorship election.

Obaseki was received by the leadership of the party led by the state Chairman of the PDP, Hon Tony Aziegbemi ahead of the Edo 2020 election slated for September.

The PDP also granted Governor Obaseki and his Deputy, Philip Shaibu, a waiver to contest in the party guber primaries.
