COVID-19: Gov Bello Relaxes Lockdown In Kabba/Bunu

Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has lifted the total lockdown imposed on Kabba Bunu local government area.

Naija News learnt that the relaxation and the lifting of the total lockdown of Kaba /Bunu local government area was sequel to the appeal by the Obaro of Kabba, Oba Solomon Owoniyi.

However, the National Centre for diseases control, NCDC had last week said the chief imam of Kabba, Sheikh Abubakar and his son tested positive to the dreaded virus, a development that generated serious controversy between it and the state government.

Meanwhile, Yahaya Bello while speaking earlier today at the Government House in Lokoja, the state capital explained that the decision became necessary after the result of all the samples taken and subjected to tests by the health workers in the local government came out negative.

Following the outcome, the governor insisted that Kogi has remained a COVID-19-free state.

He, however, urged the people of the state to adhere to the protocols of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to curb the spread of the disease.
