INEC Sends Strong Message To Voters In Bayelsa And Kogi States

The  Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has sent a strong message to voters in the upcoming Bayelsa/Kogi governorship election in the state.

Naija News learnt that the electoral umpire threatened to punish culprits and record zero votes for parties in areas where there are violence or ballot box snatching during November 16 Bayelsa governorship poll.

Speaking on the verdict, the INEC National Commissioner in charge of Bayelsa, Edo and Rivers, Mrs. May Agbamuche-Mbu, said INEC was set for the election as the electoral body is ready to stop all ballot box hijackers.

Agbamuche-Mbu also reiterated that the commission would work to ensure that the poll did not result in an inconclusive election.

She said the commission needed the cooperation of all stakeholders, especially political parties to conduct a credible election.
