Emmanuel Eboue Narrates How He Almost Committed Suicide After FIFA Suspension

Former Arsenal defender, Emmanuel Eboue, has revealed how he almost committed suicide after his suspension by FIFA.

The former Ivory Coast player revealed this on French television, he also noted that he battled with depression and even considered suicide.

Eboue stated that the mental illness started when he was suspended by FIFA from all football-related activity for one year.

The ban came as a result of his refusal to pay money owed to a former agent which led to the termination of his short-term contract with Sunderland in March 2016.

Without a club to play for and poor financial ground after a bitter divorce case, he admits he had suicidal thoughts.

Arsenal’s Head of Performance Set For Exit

Darren Burgess, Arsenal’s director of high performance, is set to leave Arsenal after just two years with the Premier League club.

The 45-year-old was appointed in July 2017by former chief executive Ivan Gazidis after being ‘hand-picked’ for the role by Arsene Wenger.

Burgess had spent three years at Liverpool between 2010 and 2012 where he worked as head of fitness and performance.

Gotze Speaks On Potential Move To Arsenal

Borussia Dortmund star Mario Gotze has downplayed reports linking him to a move to Arsenal.

“I always hear these rumours, they come up every year,” he explained to Goal and DAZN.

“Everyone has their value and the club has to decide who fits where”.

With just one year left to run on his current deal, Dortmund are keen to extend Gotze stay.
