Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), counsel to the All Progressives Congress (APC), has asked the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa to quit from the presidential election petitions tribunal.
Fagbemi, who said the application by the PDP and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, was unmeritorious, however, advised the judge to disqualify herself from further participation in the five-man tribunal for the sake of her name.
The tribunal is set to take a decision on the application by Atiku and the PDP for the disqualification of Bulkachuwa, as a member and head of the five-man tribunal.
The PDP is alleging that Justice Bulkachuwa would likely be biased against them in her handling of the hearing of their case due to her alleged family ties to the APC.
