After months of electioneering campaign across Zamfara State, the people of the state are set to vote for their prefered candidate today, 9th of March, 2019.
A Federal High Court in Abuja had stopped the All Progressives Congress from presenting candidates in Zamfara state following the inability of the party to resolve its internal crises on the conduct of its primaries.
However, the Independent National Electoral Commission has revealed that APC can participate in the Governorship and state house of assembly election following the judgement by the Court of Appeal in Abuja, which set aside the judgement of the Federal High Court for “lack or want of jurisdiction on the part of the lower court”.
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the state, Mukhtar Shehu Idris, will battle out with the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Bello Mohammed Matawalle in the election today.
