Operatives of the Directorate of State Services (DSS) have on Monday apprehended the former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Yaro Makama.
Naija News reports that the arrest of the former chairman of the party is coming about 72 hours after the Spokesperson of the party’s state campaign council, Ben Bako was also arrested over allegations of inciting and hate speech during a campaign rally.
In a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Abraham Catoh, alleged that Makama was earlier invited to the State Police Command, from where he was whisked by the DSS to a location that is still unknown.
Catoh said that there were no details as to why Makama was arrested but said that Makama was earlier invited by security agents about two weeks ago and was released after answering the questions he was asked.
“they have taken him away a couple of hours ago to an undisclosed location,” Catoh said while responding to a question on the whereabouts of Makama.
Samuel Aruwan, Senior Special Assistant to Gov. Nasiru El-Rufai, had denied the PDP allegation, saying the security agents did not need the State Government to teach them their statutory responsibility.
