The Atiku Media Campaign Organisation has berated the government of President Muhammadu Buhari on what it described as a backtrack on President Buhari’s initial promise to adhere to the new minimum wage.
A statement released by the Atiku’s camp and made available to Naija Newsreads: “Our attention has been drawn to a statement from the Presidency denying President Buhari’s earlier pledge to pay the new minimum wage of ₦30,000 agreed with the Nigerian Labour Congress and other labour affiliates in a signed communiqué.”
El-Zakzaky Denied Bail Again As Nigerian Police Restates Ban On Shiite Procession
The embattled leader of the Islamic movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibrahim El-zakzaky has again been denied bail by a court in Kaduna.
The IMN leader arrived Kaduna state high court amidst heavy security with Kaduna residents seemingly afraid of any clash between his supporters and security operatives.
Senate In Rowdy Session Over President Buhari’s Social Intervention Programme
Senate plenary on Wednesday got rowdy when senators of the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress clashed over the social investment programmes of the federal government.
It all started when the Minority Leader, Senator Biodun Olujimi alleged that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration’s Social Intervention Programme has being politicised.
DSS Reportedly Arrests APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole
National chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomholewas arrested and detained on Sunday by the Department of State Services (DSS) TheCable reports.
He has however since regained his freedom.
Ekweremadu: Police detain 4 personnel, 1 NSCDC operative
The Police said it had arrested four of its personnel on duty at the residence of Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, when the alleged assassination attempt on him took place.
Also arrested, according to the Force Public Relations Officer, Acting DCP Jimoh Mohood, is one personnel of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC) also on duty at Ekweremadu’s home at the time.
Kano Assembly Not Empowered To Investigate Ganduje, Says Sagay
The Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN), the Chairman, Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, has said that Governor Abdullahi Ganduje who was allegedly caught on camera collecting bribes from contractors cannot be adequately investigated by the Kano State House of Assembly has it is not equipped to do so.
Naija News recalls that the Kano State House of Assembly had lunched an investigation into allegation of corruption against the governor of the state after he was caught on camera collecting kickbacks from from contractors.
