Some Nigerians Are Benefiting From Banditry, Terrorism - Lawan

The President of the 9th Nigerian Senate, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, has urged Muslims not to lose guard in the observance of all COVID-19 protocols during the month of Ramadan.

Lawan in his Ramadan message to all Muslim faithful in the country urged them to use the holy month to preach peace, love, generosity and unity.

He also admonished them to pray earnestly for Nigeria as the country seeks to overcome the challenges it is facing. Lawan urged them to use the period for sober reflection, self-discipline and sacrifice.

Naija News understands that Lawan’s message was contained in a statement signed and delivered to journalists by his Special Adviser on Media, Ola Awoniyi.

The message titled ‘Senate President urges peace, national unity and prayers for Nigeria during Ramadan,” Reads; “I urge us to remember our dear country in our prayers as we seek to overcome the challenges we are facing as a nation.

“This is in the realisation that Allah is the Almighty, kind and greater than all human problems.

“I enjoin us to stress the importance of peace, love, generosity and unity in our teachings during this sacred period.

“We should also not let down our guards in the observance of COVID-19 non-pharmaceutical protocols in our spiritual and other activities during the Holy Month,” Lawan said.

Meanwhile, on Monday while Muslims were on the lookout for the setting out of the moon to commence Ramadan fasting, bandits reportedly attacked Wawan Rafi II village in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State and killed two people.
