Ramadan: Buhari Sends Important Message To Nigerian Muslims

Naija News had reported how gunmen attacked the two government facilities, razed their operational vehicles, and freed over 2,000 inmates.

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged all Muslim faithful in Nigeria to in this holy month of Ramadan be compassionate to the less privileged and as well remember displaced citizens in their charity.

Naija News reports that the president said this in his 2021 Ramadan message to Muslims which was delivered to newsmen on Monday, April 12 through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.

Buhari appealed to citizens to exercise patience and tolerance and as well reject voices that are capable of causing division of the country.

The statement was titled ‘President Buhari welcomes Ramadan, asks citizens to remember the poor and the Internally displaced.”

It read thus: “President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday welcomed the beginning of Muslims’ holy month of Ramadan, which marks the commencement of 30 days of fasting.

“In a message to the nation to mark the occasion, President Buhari prayed to Allah to accept our sacrifices and increase the unity, solidarity, peace and prosperity of the nation.

“He urged Muslims in the country to exercise patience and tolerance and reject voices that seek to divide the nation.

“He also urged all citizens to show compassion to the millions of the less endowed and remember those that have been displaced by conflict in their charity and prayers in this important period.”

Meanwhile, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Matthew Kukah, on Monday said he will continue to pray for Muslims in Nigeria to build churches for Christians.

The cleric stated this while speaking at the commissioning of 86 housing units with a church and mosque for Internally Displaced Persons in Sangere-Marghi village of Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Naija News reports.
