President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday, April 11 sent a delegate to convey his condolence message to the Adamawa State government and the family of late Dr Mahmud Tukur, a former Minister of Commerce and Industry.
Naija News had reported earlier that the first Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano and also a former director of Cadbury Nigeria, died in the early hours of Friday, April 9.
He is said to have died at age 82 from an undisclosed ailment after he was rushed to a hospital in Abuja from his base in Kaduna, on Thursday night.
Dr Tukur was a close associate of President Muhammadu Buhari, having served as a minister when Buhari was military head of state. Condoling with the deceased’s family, the president yesterday, sent a high powered delegation, led by the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari.
Naija News reports that Gambari, accompanied by the FCT Minister Mohammed Bello and other dignitaries, were at theYola Government House on Sunday to convey the condolences of President Buhari.
Buhari was quoted in the message to have described the late Tukur as “a true Nigerian, a mentor and role model to many young generations of Nigerian academics.”
Meanwhile, the Archbishop of the Resurrection Praise Ministry, Samson Benjamin, better known as Jehovah Sharp Sharp has claimed God told him to carry a coffin around as a sign of anger with President Muhammadu Buhari‘s government, Naija News reports.
