The leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has warned a Muslim group against attacking the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Mathew Kukah.
Naija News had earlier reported that the Muslim Solidarity Forum asked Kukah to apologize to the Muslim community over his Christmas Day message or leave Sokoto State.
The acting Chairman of the forum, Prof Isa Maishanu, issued the quit notice in a statement released on Tuesday in reaction to Kukah’s message.
But in response, Kukah had said he was ready to apologise if he is shown any part of his Christmas message that insulted Islam.
Reacting to the threats via his Twitter page on Wednesday, the IPOB leader said a Muslim cannot agree to apologize to Christians if shown where he or she insulted Christianity. But the Mulsim group wants the Bishop to apologise for not insulting their religion.
He said Bishop Kukah has agreed to apologise if shown where he insulted Islam yet the group wants him to apologise or leave Sokoto State.
Kanu, however, warned that nothing must happen to the Bishop.
He wrote: “Can a Muslim agree to apologize to Christians if shown where he or she insulted Christianity?.
“But yet Bishop #Kukah agreed to apologise if shown where he insulted Islam.
“Not even a scratch should be seen on his body, else……”
