Galadima Reveals Those Who Signed APC 2023 Zoning Agreement

A former ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, Buba Galadima, has revealed those that signed the All Progressives Congress (APC) power-sharing agreement.

Galadima, a leader of the Reformed All Progressives Congress (R-APC), stated that at the formation of the APC, there was a zoning arrangement agreed upon by leaders of the party.

“Four people, two from the southwest, and two from the north reached that agreement. I know about this agreement from a reliable source,” he said.

“Those who sat and agreed upon this agreement were two former governors from the southwest, one serving governor from the north, and also another political gladiator from the north.”

Naija News reports that there have been calls from various quarters for the APC to zone its 2023 presidential ticket to the south.

Some groups have also called on Nigeria’s two major political parties to micro-zone it to the South-east.

But speculations have emerged that politicians from the northern part of Nigeria are plotting to contest the election.

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected claims by the presidency that it is responsible for the economic rot, insecurity, and other ills plaguing Nigeria.

The PDP in a series of tweets on Sunday described the presidency and APC’s claim as a feeble kick of a weak horse.

The major opposition party maintained that Nigerians are tired of the President Buhari administration and the APC’s misrule in the past six years.

It alleged that the things the APC and the President Buhari administration have delivered to Nigeria since it claimed power in 2015 is a long list of unfulfilled promises, weak economy, increased poverty, surging unemployment, banditry, kidnapping, and other vices pointing to a failed state.
