The co-chairman of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), Bill Gates, has dismissed reports that the coronavirus pandemic is a cover for his alleged plan to implant trackable microchips in the world’s populace.
Speaking in an interview with Reuters on Wednesday, Bill Gates expressed surprised that some people link him with conspiracy theories about the COVID-19 pandemic.
While describing the reports spreading on social media as crazy, the billionaire said he would like to explore the rationale behind the theories being peddled about him and the COVID-19 virus.
Bill Gates said: “Nobody would have predicted that I and Dr. Fauci would be so prominent in these really evil theories,” he said.
“I’m very surprised by that. I hope it goes away. But do people really believe that stuff? We’re really going to have to get educated about this over the next year and understand…how does it change peoples’ behaviour and how should we have minimized this?”
In a related development, Bill Gates has asked Nigeria and other countries around the world to start making preparation for the next global pandemic.
Speaking with TheCable on Tuesday, Gates said the COVID-19 pandemic might not be the world’s last pandemic it would experience.
Gates said the only way Nigeria can prepare for the next global pandemic is to invest more funds in its primary healthcare which he said is closer to the people.
He noted that more Nigerians lose their lives from lack of access to primary healthcare every year than the total number of deaths in Africa from the COVID-19 pandemic.
