1. Coronavirus: Gov. Sanwo-Olu Directs Civil Servants To Work From Home, Extend Ban On Worship Centres

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday directed all civil servants from Grade Level 14 and below in the state to work from home.

Governor Sanwo-Olu in the statement released also directed all worship centres not to exceed two hours in their services.

He added that no gathering must exceed 50 per cent of the maximum capacity of the Venue.

2. Gov. Tambuwal Awaits COVID-19 Result

Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, on Friday disclosed that he has gone into self-isolation after having contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.

Gov. Tambuwal announced this in a post on his Twitter account.

He further stated that he has undergone a coronavirus test and expecting the result.

3. Kankara Abduction: Garba Shehu Apologises For Claiming 10 Schoolboys Were Kidnapped

President Muhammadu Buhari‘s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, on Friday apologised for claiming ten students were abducted from the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Kastina State, last Friday.

The presidential aide during an interview with Hausa Service of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), had claimed that only ten students of the school were abducted.

4. IGP Promotes 4,134 Traffic Warden Officers

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has approved the promotion of 4,134 Traffic Warden Officers to their next ranks.

The breakdown of those promoted has it that 65 Officers were elevated to the rank of a Deputy Superintendent of Traffic; 245 Officers to Assistant Superintendent of Traffic II; 138 Officers to Senior Traffic Warden; 3,683 Men to Grade I and 3 Men from Grade III to Grade II.

5. Kankara Schoolboys Narrate Ordeals With Boko Haram – [Video]

Some students of the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara who were recently freed by their abductors have begun to disclose their horrible experiences while in captivity.

Sharing their awful experience with the dreaded terrorist group a few moments ago with Channels TV, one of the boys who gave his name as Aminu said they were fed potatoes and sometimes forced to sleep with hunger in the bush.

The Cross River State Commissioner of Police, Abdulkadir Jimoh has died of suspected coronavirus complications on Friday.

The Police officer was confirmed dead at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital by the Chief Medical Director of the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Prof. Ikpeme Ikpeme.

8. Kankara Abduction: Gov. Matawalle Reveals Group Responsible For Schoolboy’s Release

Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, on Friday, disclosed that the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, negotiated the release of the students of Government Science Secondary School in Kankara, Katsina State.

Naija News had earlier reported that the schools who were abducted last Friday were released on Thursday.

Matawalle who spoke with Daily Nigerian noted that Katsina State Government secured their release through the help of MACBAN and repentant bandits.

9. Buhari Meets Kankara Schoolboys

Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari, is currently in a meeting with the students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, in Katsina State.

Naija News had earlier reported that the abducted students were released on Thursday evening, a development which was confirmed by the state Governor, Aminu Masari.

The student after their release on Thursday were taken to the state on Friday morning amidst tight security.

10. Gunmen Attack Emir Of Kaura Namoda, Kill 3 Policemen, Others

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have reportedly attacked the convoy of the Emir of Kaura Namoda, HRH Sanusi Muhammad Asha killing eight persons.

Those killed during the attack include three policemen who were part of the Emir’s security team and five others in the convoy of the traditional ruler.
