Striking lecturers under the umbrella of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Friday agreed to call off their eight-month-old strike. The decision was reached during a meeting in Abuja between the union and the federal government delegation led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige.
2. FG Begs NLC, Others For One Week To Review Petrol Price
The Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government has asked labour unions to give it one week to consult on the increase of petrol price. Naija News reports that the request was made by the Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari at Thursday’s meeting at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
3. REVEALED: Goodluck Jonathan Now ‘Working’ For APC
Goodluck Jonathan, a former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is reportedly working for the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s main opposition party. Naija News reports that the allegation was made by the APC through its National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, on Friday, where it slamed the slammed the Peoples Democratic Party for not being a worthy opposition.

Kidnappers on Friday abducted the wife of Olugbenga Ale, Chief of Staff to Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu. It was gathered that she was kidnapped around Owena after the Joseph Ayo Babalola University while on her way back to Ondo from Lagos State.
5. Invite Fashola To Explain Whereabouts of ‘Missing’ Camera – EndSARS Lawyer
Adesina Ogunlana, a counsel to #EndSARS protesters, has urged the Lagos Panel on Restitution for Victims of SARS and Related Abuses, to invite the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola. Ogunlana had made the oral request on Friday during the cross-examination of the Managing Director of Lekki Concession Company (LCC), Abayomi Omonuwa.
6. Lekki Shooting: We Won’t Allow CNN Spread Fake News, Set Nigeria On Fire – Lai Moh’d
Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture, has said the Cable News Network (CNN) is grasping at straws in desperation, to justify its inaccurate and unbalanced investigation into the shooting of EndSARS protesters in Lekki. Naija News recalls that CNN on Thursday explained its post on Twitter on October 23, 2020, which reported that “at least 38 people were killed” when soldiers opened fire on peaceful #EndSARS protesters in Lekki, Lagos.
7. PDP Governor Matawalle Attacks Party, Backs Umahi’s Defection To APC
The governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, has commended Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State, for joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party. Naija News reports that Governor Matawalle who is a governor on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, attributed Mr Umahi’s decamping to “bad blood in the present Peoples Democratic Party”.
8. Senator Ali Ndume Released From Kuje Prison
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, has granted bail to Senator Ali Ndume representing Borno South, who was detained in prison since Monday over his suretyship for Abdulrasheed Maina believed to have jumped bail. Naija News reports that the presiding judge, Justice Okon Abang in a ruling on Friday, November 27, said he chose to grant the senator bail based on his record of good behaviour before the court, notwithstanding that the other grounds of his bail application failed.
