Naija News reports that figures released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Saturday, November 21, reveal that Nigeria is officially in a recession, with the West African country recording a contraction of 3.62 percent in the third quarter of 2020.
2. Army Sent Seven Trucks To Lekki Toll Gate To Quell #EndSARS Protest
According to video footage, the Nigerian Army sent not less than seven trucks to the Lekki Toll Gate on the night of October 20 when peaceful #EndSARS protesters were shot at by soldiers. Naija News reports that the trucks, two white and five black, were seen on Saturday in footage of the incident provided by the Lekki Concession Company (LCC).

Ahead of the 2023 election in Nigeria, some governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party, have approached the nation’s immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan on possible of him contesting. Naija News understands that the APC governors approached Jonathan to contest the 2023 election when they visited the former President in his Abuja home on the occasion of his 63rd birthday on Friday.

The Lagos State Judicial Panel of Enquiry and Restitution for Victims of SARS related abuses and other matters has started viewing of the Lekki shooting video of #EndSARS protesters. Naija News reports that the Lagos #EndSARS panel started viewing of 2 hours 29 minutes of the October 20 Lekki shootings footage captured by the Lekki Concession Company (LCC) on Saturday morning, November 21. This portion of the total 21-hour footage begins from 5pm and ends at 7:59pm.

Adesina Ogunlana, a counsel for some #EndSARS protesters in Lagos State, has called on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State to appear before the Judicial Panel of Inquiry probing the alleged killing of peaceful protesters by soldiers at the Lekki tollgate on the night of October 20. Recall that the Commander of 81 Military Intelligence Brigade, Victoria Island, Lagos, Brigadier General Ahmed Taiwo, had told the panel last Saturday that the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai ordered the deployment of soldiers to the tollgate and other parts of the state following a request by Sanwo-Olu.
