The Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday confirmed ninety-four (94) new cases of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).
The agency confirmed the new cases in a post on its verified Twitter handle.
According to the NCDC, Lagos reported 50 cases while the
FCT-24 Kwara-9 Edo-4 Kaduna-3 Ondo-2 and Plateau-2.
So far, 1,158 persons have died from the deadly coronavirus disease.
NCDC reports that 937 of the 58,795 people who were tested for COVID-19 between Nov. 1 and Nov. 8 tested positive.
It added that the nation’s confirmed cases now stood at 64,184 and 60,069 have been discharged.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned that Nigeria may experience a second wave of coronavirus.
The NCDC made this known through its Director-General, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu.
He stated this while speaking at an ongoing media briefing with newsmen organized by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
The NCDC DG warned Nigerians to abide by the protocols and guidelines developed by the agency to avoid a second wave of the virus.
He stated that the virus was still around and more dangerous despite the drop in recorded cases.
