A fire which started a few minutes past 7:00 pm has razed scores of shanties at Okobaba, Ebute Metta area of Lagos State.
Naija News reports that the cause of the fire could not be ascertained as at the time of filing in this report.
Recall that on November 8, 2019 a similar incident occurred were fire engulfed shanties in the area.
In the fire outbreak, no fewer than five buildings, and many shanties were razed, including a bakery.
The inferno, which lasted about three hours in 2019, gutted buildings and shanties on Jebba, Okobaba, Tapa, Coates, and Kano streets around noon.
It also rendered thousands of people homeless, with some having to sleep at the burnt site, Okobaba Football Pitch, and Okobaba Sawmill for many days.
