The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday warned that Nigeria may experience a second wave of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).
The NCDC made this known throught its Director-General, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu.
He stated this while speaking at an ongoing media briefing with newsmen organised by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
The NCDC DG warned Nigerians to abide by the protocols and guidelines developed by the agency to avoid a second wave of the virus.
He stated that the virus was still around and more dangerous despite the drop in recorded cases.
Naija News reports that there have been a steady increase in reported cases of COVID-19 by the NCDC.
The agency on Sunday evening recorded a staggering three hundred new cases of the deadly coronavirus.
The new cases of COVID-19 show Lagos-255 FCT-27 Oyo-10 Kaduna-5 Ondo-2 Kano-1.
The Coronavirus cases brings the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 64,090.
59,910 patients have been discharged so far with 1,154 unfortunate deaths recorded by the NCDC.
