At least 10 people have been killed in violence following Guinea’s presidential election, according to the country’s defence minister.
President Alpha Condé is currently leading in the results announced by the Electoral Commission from 14 of the 20 constituencies, according to Reuters.
His opponent Cellou Dalein Diallou claimed victory and said the election was full of controversy.
He also accused President Conde of rigging the election. The president called for calm.
However, there have been several protests since the election against Alpha Conde’s bid for a third term. Amnesty International says 50 people have been killed in protests.
