Gana: Army Allegedly Request For N50m Ransom From Ortom
The Nigerian Army are reportedly requesting for the payment of the N50 million bounty placed on wanted suspect in Benue State, Terwase Akwaza also known as Gana by the state Governor, Samuel Ortom.
This is coming barely three days after Gana was killed by the military during an operation by Special Forces Command in Doma, Nasarawa State.
Gana Wanted To Work For God, Be A Changed Man Before He Was Killed – Wife
One of the wives of the most wanted suspect in Benue State, Terwase Akwaza, also known as Gana, Mrs Wantor Akwaza, on Thursday accused the military of snatching her deceased husband.
Recall that the military had on Tuesday stated that the deceased was killed in a gun battle with soldiers.
Obaseki, Ize-Iyamu To Sign Peace Accord – INEC
The National Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mahmood Yakubu, has noted that governorship candidates participating in the September 19 election in Edo State will sign a Peace accord on Tuesday.
The INEC boss stated this during a briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Abuja on Thursday.
Bayelsa: Court Fixes Date For Gov Diri’s Appeal Against Sack
The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has fixed September 14 2020, to hear the appeal filed by the Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri.
Naija News reports that Diri is challenging the judgement of the State Governorship Election Tribunal, which nullified his election.
Gana’s Death: Amnesty Continues – Ortom Declares
Governor Samuel Ortom on Benue State on Thursday noted that security has been beefed up in the Sankera area where Gana, hailed from.
The Benue State Governor while answering questions from newsmen after his briefing on the outcome of Thursday’s Security Council meeting, called for calm in the area and assured the people that his administration had provided enough security in the area to forestall any possible breakdown of law and order.
