Nasarawa: Armed Robbers Attack NTA, TVC Correspondents

Television Continental (TVC) correspondent, Godwin Agwam and Mrs Victoria Ojito of Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) were on Thursday attacked by suspected armed robbers in Nasarawa State.

Information gathered revealed that the journalists were attacked in the early hours of Thursday at their residence at Sabon-Gari, Lafia.

The robbery also saw Mrs Priscilla Gondo-Alour, the Nasarawa State Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) attacked during the raid.

TVC correspondent, Agwam, while speaking with NAN noted that the suspects stormed the compound at about 2:00 a.m, forced their way into his apartment and took their laptop, mobile phones and cash from the wife’s business.

He further stated that the suspects also attacked six other houses in the area and injured one during their operation.

Ojito of NTA, while sharing her side of the robbery revealed that the robbers broke her door and took away her money and some valuables.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Bola Longe, while confirming the incident noted that the suspects would be arrested.

Longe during a patrol of the area noted that the force would not rest in its fight against criminal activities in the state.

The CP charged members of the public to be vigilant and report suspicious movements and individuals to the police for prompt action.
