President Muhammadu Buhari has taken some major steps after the recent Aso Rock crisis between his wife Aisha, and his private secretary, Sabiu ‘Tunde’ Yusuf.
It will be recalled Nigeria’s first lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari, on Friday, 12th June had taken to Twitter to ask the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, to release her aides from detention.
2. Edo 2020: PDP Postpones Date For Primary Election
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has postponed its primary election for the Edo governorship poll from Friday to Tuesday.
Kola Ologbondiyan, spokesman of the party, announced this in a tweet on Thursday.
3. APC Crisis: Giadom Remains National Chairman – Court Rules
The crisis rocking the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) took another twist on Thursday as the court re-affirmed Victor Giadom as the party’s acting National Chairman.
The Abuja federal high court in a ruling delivered by Justice S.U Bature ordered that Giadom should continue as the APC acting National Chairman.
4. Buhari Bombs Service Chiefs After Meeting In Aso Rock
President Muhammadu Buhari is unhappy with the current state of the security situation in Nigeria and has berated the Service Chiefs over the development.
Naija News had reported earlier that the President had a meeting with the service chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital on Thursday.
5. Arrest Those That Kill Your People And Not Those That Criticize Your Government – Fani-Kayode Bombs Buhari
Former Nigerian Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has told President Muhammadu Buhari to desist from arresting those criticizing his administration.
Fani-Kayode who described the Buhari administration as incompetent also commended those who came out to protest the incessant killing by bandits and other insurgents in some states.
6. The United States React To Increased Killings, Insecurity In Nigeria
The government of the United States of America has called on the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government to do more about the rising insecurity in Nigeria.
The US government in a statement released on Thursday morning also condemned the actions by the insurgents, terrorists and bandits.
7. More Confusion Will Hit APC Till It Goes Into Oblivion – Fayose
Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, has reacted to the crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress, APC, describing it as the wrath of God.
The politician noted that God is unhappy with the APC administration due to how it treated millions of citizens who voted them into power.
8. Obaseki Has Registered With Us And His Membership Card Is Ready – PDP Chairman
The Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki has registered with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in his ward and the move will be made official when he returns from Abuja.
This development was disclosed by the PDP chairman in Edo State, Tony Azegbemi.
9. Our Party Is Collapsing With No Leader In Charge’ – APC Govs Forum DG
The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Governor’s Forum, Salihu Lukman, has expressed his concerns over the leadership of the party at the National level.
Lukman, while reacting to recent development in the party noted that some members of the NWC who he alleged are responsible for challenges in the APC camp would be replaced with immediate effect.
10. Chelsea Sign Timo Werner For £47.5m
Chelsea Football Club on Thursday confirmed that they have reached an agreement with RB Leipzig to sign Timo Werner.
Naija News understands that the German striker has signed a five-year contract worth 170,000 per week and would arrive at Stamford Bridge in July as part of a £47.5 million ($59m) deal, subject to passing a medical examination.
