The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has mocked the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the recent crisis that has befallen the party in recent times.
Most recently, an Appeal Court in Abuja has upheld the suspension of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole.
More twists however emerged in the seemingly never-ending saga involving the tussle for who controls the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) after the court ruling.
Following Oshiomhole’s suspension, the ruling party National Working Committee (NWC) in a statement by its National Publicity Secretay announced Senator Abiola Ajimobi, who is reportedly down with COVID-19, as the new acting National Chairman of the party.
However, the Deputy National Secretary of the APC, Victor Giadom, has laid a fresh claim to the position of national chairman.
The development came after Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State on Tuesday also resigned from the APC. His deputy, Comrade Philip Shaibu also followed suit a few hours later.
Reacting to the series of crises plaguing APC, the PDP hit hard at the ruling party saying the inability of the APC to put its house in order is translating into its inability to manage the affairs of the country effectively.
It particularly called out Adams Oshiomhole for alleged recklessness in managing party affairs.
The statement reads partly: “The All Progressives Congress (APC) is Nigeria’s major problem.
“The ruling party has proven to be nothing but a despotic platform; a soulless mob and political virus that has no interest in the wellbeing of Nigerians.
“Our party invites Nigerians to note that such impunity, arrogance, egoism, recklessness and disdain for rules and order, which are symptomatic of crass incompetence and cluelessness, are at the root of the problems, which the APC, under the leadership of Adams Oshiomhole, has brought upon our nation.”
