Coronavirus: President Trump Bars Travel From Brazil

Trump To Pull Funding Permanently From WHO Over Coronavirus, See When

The United States President, Donald Trump, on Sunday placed a travel ban on Brazil, which has been identified as the new hotspot of Coronavirus.

The White House press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, while speaking on the development noted that non-Americans who has been in Brazil in the last 14-days while seeking a visa to the US would not be allowed to come to America.

She further stated that the new development will not affect trading.

McEnany in her statement said, “Today’s action will help ensure foreign nationals who have been in Brazil do not become a source of additional infections in our country.”

Brazil, since the outbreak of Coronavirus, has registered 360,000 confirmed cases, while 22,000 deaths have been recorded in the country.

Brazil in its reaction noted that the decision of Trump is a standard procedure to curtail the spread of Coronavirus.

“The decision is identical to measures taken previously that suspended travel from other countries affected by COVID-19, including China, Iran, the United Kingdom and Ireland, as well as the European Union’s Schengen zone.”

Brazil has also barred foreigners from entering the country because of the pandemic.
