#PrayForKemiOlunloyo is currently topping Nigeria Twitter trends ahead of Nnamdi Kanu’s video broadcast later today.
Naija News had reported earlier controversial journalist, Kemi Olunloyo said the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu is dead.
This online news platform understands that the news of Nnamdi Kanu’s death first emerged on the micro-blogging site, Twitter last week when Miss Olunloyo tweeted that the IPOB leader was dead and had been cremated in Italy.
However, a day after the tweet, Olunloyo took to Twitter again to retract her claims, saying she confirmed from Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Nigerian Minister who is Nnamdi Kanu’s ally, that the IPOB leader is hale and hearty and not dead as earlier claimed by her.
Naija News had reported earlier that Kanu delivered a live broadcast on Sunday on Radio Biafra, where he accused the people in Aso Rock and Chinese doctors of being responsible for the deaths in Kano state, northern Nigeria.
“I said, right now people are dying in Kano, the people to hold responsible are the people in Aso Rock. People are dying now in their numbers in the North. Before the Chinese came, were people dying like this?” The IPOB leader asked.
Reacting to the live broadcast, Olunloyo insisted that Nnamdi Kanu is dead and that person that spoke as the IPOB leader during the live broadcast on Radio Biafra on Sunday, was “physically in Nigeria doing his voice over.”
The controversial journalist tweeted: “Nnamdi Kanu has died and gone. The person on a radio/video show yesterday didn’t have to hide their face. That person was physically in Nigeria doing his voice over. As a broadcaster, I can do voices of many public figures.”

She added hours later: “I don’t spread unverified news.”

Moments after the tweet by Kemi Olunloyo with the #RIPNnamdiKanu trending, Nigerians jumped on the hashtag in reaction to Nnamdi Kanu’s death rumour. However, Amaka Ekwo, Nnamdi Kanu’s secretary debunked the news, saying that the IPOB leader will address his people soonest.
To prove he is alive and not dead as claimed by Kemi Olunloyo, Kanu has set 7 pm Nigerian time, to address Biafrans in a video broadcast today. However, ahead of the broadcast, #PrayForKemiOlunloyo is topping Twitter trends in Nigeria in anticipation of what the IPOB leader would say about the controversial Nigerian journalist.
@MaziNnamdiKanu will be on live video broadcast today on radio Biafra London by 7pm,this is to prove more on how civilized Biafra will be when restored. To address humanity beyond every reasonable doubt that he,an Iroko is very much alive, healthy and sound. #PrayForKemiOlunloyo pic.twitter.com/xntC9DVRNa

When Kemi started trending #RIPNnamdiKanu, some people were hailing her here. Trust IPOB, they have started trending #PrayForKemiOlunloyo and the same people are calling IPOB intolerable.

I tend to ignore cursing this lady because my spirit couldn’t buy into distractions from her. But I like #PrayForKemiOlunloyo because I know she is not herself and need genuine people to call on Elohim to bring her back to her senses. #ShowHerMaturity. #BiafraFreedom
