A Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) pastor in the Sagamu Local Government area of Ogun state was yesterday arrested , after he disobeyed the government’s COVID-19 lockdown directive, and hosted Easter service in the church.
The pastor, Jonathan Olowonisile, was arrested alongside his associate and two others.
However, NaijaNews understands that the worshippers fled immediately they saw the policemen.
The arrest was confirmed by Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Ogun State Police Public Relations officer.
Oyeyemi said the pastor was nabbed for leading a congregation contrary to the ban on mass gathering.
“Our men arrested one Pastor Jonathan Olowonisile today, (Sunday) for contravening the order against high density gathering,” he said.
