30 new COVID-19 cases has been reported in five states across the country by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
This was made known yesternight in a series of tweets.
In the first set of tweets, the NCDC had declared only 19 new cases.
The NCDC further gave the breakdown, Lagos recorded 14 cases; two in the federal capital territory, while Kano, Akwa Ibom and Edo recorded one case each.
Nineteen new cases of #COVID19 have been reported as follows:
14 in Lagos
2 in FCT
1 in Kano
1 in Akwa Ibom

However, not up to two hours after the NCDC confirmed 19 new cases, 11 new cases were recorded.
The NCDC announced the update through its Twitter handle at 11:01 pm yesternight.
All 11 cases were recorded in Lagos, bringing the state’s total to 214.
As of 11:01 pm on April 14, 2020, Nigeria had recorded 373 confirmed COVID-19 cases.

Earlier on Tuesday, Chikwe Ihekweazu, NCDC director-general, had at the media briefing of the presidential task force on COVID-19, said efforts were ongoing to take advantage of the lockdown extension declared by President Muhammadu Buhari in Lagos, Ogun and the federal capital territory, to expand more on testing capacity, as well as contact tracing
