Kaduna State Government following the report of new cases of COVID-19 accredited to the state by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday night, has confirmed that sixteen out of the seventeen reported cases are Almajiri’s from Kano State.
The cases were confirmed in a tweet on Thursday morning by Governor Nasir El-Rufai on his twitter handle, noting that all the reported cases were Almajiri children who hail from Kano State.
He said, “KDSG has confirmed 16 new COVID-19 cases in the state.
“The new cases, all Almajiris from Kano, have raised the number of active COVID-19 cases in Kaduna State from 9 to 25.”
The update was also confirmed in a tweet by a Twitter handle identified with the state (Inside Kaduna – @InsideKaduna_).

Meanwhile, NCDC reported on at about 11:50 pm on Wednesday, April 29 that Nigeria has recorded 196 cases of the global pandemic, making figures of confirmed cases in the country rise to 1728.
