A very respected Nigerian pastor and senior pastor of the Daystar Christian Centre, Sam Adeyemi has noted that rest is a very important part of human existence and also world existence.
The clergy who quoted from the bible to back up his claims, noted however that the time of rest should also be seen as an opportunity to evolve and gain new experience.
The pastor spoke at a time Nigeria and the world at large is dealing with containing the coronavirus pandemic and many towns and cities are experiencing a lockdown.
Taking to his Twitter account on Sunday, 12th April, Pastor Adeyemi noted that: “Crisis will always come with opportunities. This is an opportunity to press the reset button; we must not waste this opportunity. I pray that you will evolve through this experience into a new person. You will conceive new vision, dream, & inspiration this season.

“THE COVENANT OF REST – Genesis 2:2-3 (NKJV) – “And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.
Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all his work which God had created and made.
As we rolled into the year, God gave us a word & that word is REST. We pointed out that the principle of rest showed up right from the beginning of creation. Our planet is not designed to run endlessly, even our systems as human; hence rest is part of the process.
The purpose of this rest is renewal. Not only do our bodies get renewed, our soul, which is the most important part of us also need to be renewed. The renewal of our spirit & soul was designed to happen during intimacy with God which is the essence of the seventh day.”
