The Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force disclosed on Thursday that five of the 11 positive cases in the state has recovered from the vital infection.
Governor Seyi Makinde was one of the persons who was confirmed negative after testing positive to the deadly virus in the state.
In a data released on Thursday by the state Ministry of Health on COVID-19 status in the state, six out of the total 11 cases were said to be active (positive).
The data indicated that there was no death resulting from the viral infection in the state.
The state Ministry of Health said there were no new cases of COVID-19.
Oyo State Commissioner for Health, Dr Bashir Bello, who confirmed the report said that the state had intensified efforts on testing with the establishment of the testing centre at the University College Hospital.
Bello advised the citizens against defying the social distancing order in order for the state to avert communal infection and death as a result of the spread of the virus.
