1. Supreme Court Dismisses APC And David Lyon’s Request On Bayelsa Governorship
The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld the ruling which sacked David Lyon and Senator Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo as the governor-elect and deputy governor-elect of Bayelsa State respectively.
The seven-man panel of the apex court led by Justice Sylvester Ngwuta, after listening to the submissions of the counsels from both parties dismissed the case by APC and David Lyon for lack of merit.
2. Soldier Kills Four Nigerian Army Colleagues, Commits Suicide
A Corporal of the Nigerian Army serving at the Theatre Command Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Army Super Camp 15, located at Malam Fatori in Borno State, northern Nigeria, near the border with Niger and Chad, has opened fire on four of his colleagues.
Naija News understands that a statement by the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Sagir Musa, confirmed the development, saying that the Nigerian Army soldier later shot himself in the early hours of Wednesday, February 26.
3. Buhari Appoints New NASS Service Commission
Engr. Ahmed Kadi Amshi and 11 others have been appointed as chairman and members of the National Assembly Service Commission.
The appointment was given by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The event which held at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja was witnessed by Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.
4. EFCC Denies Accusing Shehu Sani Of $25,000 Fraud
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Wednesday had denied the report that it was prosecuting the Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani for an alleged $25,000.
Recall that the commission had filed a case before Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court over an alleged $25,000 offered him by the proprietor of ASD Motors, Alhaji Sani Dauda.
5. Again, Boko Haram Storms Chibok Town
Suspected members of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP), have again stormed Bambula community in Chibok local government area of Borno state and abducted the head of the civilian joint task force (JTF), Mohammed Abba.
Naija News learnt that the community was attacked by the insurgents on Tuesday, while the residents were asleep.
6. Rivers: Police Rescue 24 Children From Baby Factory
Twenty-four babies have been rescued from a baby factory at the Woji area of Obio-Akpor Local government area of Rivers State by the State Police Command
The spokesperson of the command, Nnamdi Omoni noted that the factory was stormed by men of the Eagle Crack Squad who acted on credible information.
7. Real Reason NSA Monguno Did Not Attend Service Chiefs’ Meeting With Buhari
The National Security Adviser (NSA), Babagana Monguno, did not attend the meeting between Service Chiefs and President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, February 24, because he was out of the country.
Naija News recalls that President Buhari held a meeting with the Service Chiefs on Monday, days after the Office of the NSA in a circular accused Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to the President of hijacking a role legally assigned to Monguno.
8. Ganduje Bans Street Begging In Kano State
Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has banned street begging by all Almajiri children in Kano state.
Naija News understands that the governor gave the order during the launch of Basic Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) and the Distribution of Offer of Appointment to 7,500 volunteer teachers, held at Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, on Tuesday.

Muhammad Shuwa, the recently appointed Chief Judge of the Boko Haram terrorists has been reportedly killed in an airstrike on the hideout of the group.
Further reports into the situation has it that sustained military onslaught has resulted in a disarray of the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) camp amidst further infighting among the insurgents.
10. Manchester City Appeal UEFA Ban
Manchester City has officially appealed against the two-year European ban slammed on them by European football governing body, UEFA.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport, (CAS) on Wednesday, confirmed that the club’s appeal has been officially registered.
