Barely a week after Naija News reported that a fake dentist who works at a popular hospital in Gombe State, wrongly injected a student and results to his death, another quack medical practitioner has been arrested by the Nasarawa state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for allegedly killing a three-year-old girl through illegal blood transfusion.
According to the statement made available to newsmen on Monday evening, the state commandant of NSCDC, Mohammed Mahmoud-Fari, made an arrest of 27 years-old suspects, Muddansir Idris.
The commandant disclosed that Muddansir was nabbed along Kofan-Sarkin-Power area of Lafia after the command receives a tip from the parents of the child.
Mahmoud-Fari reports that the suspect had wrongly transfused blood to the deceased at a medicine store in the area, which resulted in profuse bleeding from all over the child’s body.
He said, “Sensing danger, the suspect ran away and the baby was rushed to the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia, where doctors tried frantically to save her life to no avail.”
“We were able to trace and arrest the suspect and also seal the premises,”
Naija News understands that investigation carried out revealed that the suspect had no record of professional qualification to practice as health personnel.
Although, Muddansir said that he is studying environmental health care at the School of Health Technology in Gboko, Benue state.
Mahmoud-Fari, however, stated that the command is already on the trail of the blood donor and that the two would be charged for culpable homicide as soon as investigation is concluded.
