Again, President Buhari Makes Fresh Appointments

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday evening approved the reconstitution of the board of Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

Naija News recalls that Buhari had appointed Mallam Garba Abubakar as the substantive Registrar-General of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

The appointment was contained in a letter signed on Tuesday by the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, to the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, through the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, OSGF.

This online news platform understands that the letter also conveyed the appointment of Ademola Razak Seriki as the Chairman, Governing Board of the commission.

A fresh statement on Thursday night by Ibrahim Haruna, Deputy Director, Press in the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, revealed that Ademola Seriki is now the Board Chairman with effect from January 7.

Seriki had served as Minister of State for Interior under the President Goodluck Jonathan administration.

The statement noted that the constitution of the CAC board was announced by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Adeniyi Adebayo, while presenting appointment letter to new CAC Registrar-General, Garba Abubakar.

During the presentation, Adebayo said that the reconstitution of the board had put to rest the lingering leadership rocking the CAC.

According to the Minister, all directors and staff of the commission must give the new Registrar-General maximum support and cooperation to move the commission forward.

Also, the Minister of State, Mariam Katagum, while congratulating the new Registrar-General, also appreciated the former Ag. Registrar-General, Hajiya Saratu Shafi’i, while on acting capacity.

Katagum commended Hajiya Hasaratu Shafi’i for the role she played in her acting capacity.
