APC heads to Supreme Court as Appeal Court upholds Gov. Fintiri’s Election in Adamawa

All Progressives Congress (APC), in Adamawa State has vowed to approach the Supreme Court to challenge the victory of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri at the Appeal Court.

The Appeal Court sitting in Yola has on Friday, upheld the verdict of the Election Petition Tribunal which affirmed the victory of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The judgment delivered by Justice Ali A. B Gumel and cross-appeal and motion delivered by Justice Emmanuel Agim upheld the judgment of the tribunal and dismissed the cross-appeal by Fintiri respectively.

But in a swift reaction, APC’s organizing secretary, Ahmed Lawal told reporters that the party is not satisfied with the rulings of the Appeal Court and will head to Supreme Court to get justice.

“We are waiting to receive the judgment for the next line of action. But we will definitely go to the Supreme Court to retrieve our mandate,” he said.

Naija News had earlier reported that the appeal filed by the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state challenging the decision of governorship election petition tribunal was reserved for Judgment.

The court has also reserved the application for joiner brought before it by erstwhile Governor Muhammad Umar Jibrilla Bindow seeking to join the substantive suit filed by APC as co-appellant for the ruling.
