1. Nigeria Now 131st In World Bank Ease Of Doing Business Ranking

Nigeria has made a major leap in the latest World Bank ease of doing business report moving up 15 places from its 2019 position.

According to the 2020 report released by the World Bank on Thursday, Nigeria now occupies the 131st position.

2. Deji Adeyanju Petitions EFCC Over Tinubu’s Election Day Bullion Vans

The convener, Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju, on Thursday, revealed that he has taken up the challenge to petition the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission against the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu.

The human rights activist noted in a Facebook post that the petition will be submitted on Friday.

3. Court Stalls Naira Marley’s Case As Lawyers Begin Fight Over Seats

The case of alleged card fraud trial of musician, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley.has been adjourned by a Federal High Court in Lagos, following lawyers’ heated exchange over space to seat.

The argument ensued between Mr Rotimi Oyedepo, the counsel of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Marley’s counsel Mr Olalekan Ojo SAN, including two other senior lawyers on the other hand.

4. EFCC Arrests 10 Suspected ‘Yahoo Boys’ In Ilorin, Recover Charms, Other Items

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 10 internet fraud suspects in Ilorin and recovered dangerous charms, fake currency from them.

Naija News reports operatives of the EFCC, Ilorin Zonal Office effected the arrest over their alleged offences bordering on internet fraud and other fraud related offences.

5. Rauf Aregbesola Speaks On Releasing Prisoners To De-congest Prisons

Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has said a committee has been set up to see how the prisons in Nigeria can be decongested in six months.

This, the minister said while speaking at a public hearing organized by the national assembly joint committee on appropriation.

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, stated that Nigeria looks forward to embracing the new dawn of Africa-Russia partnership and the revitalized Nigeria-Russia relations also.

7. Nigeria Has Revenue Crisis And It Is Worrisome, Finance Minister Reveals

Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, has restated her commitment to improve the revenue of the nation.

Ahmed revealed the commitment of the federal government while debunking an alleged erroneous believe that Nigeria is facing a debt crisis. She explained that Nigeria’s debt profile is still within a reasonable limit.

8. NJC Appoints Four New Supreme Court Judges

The National Judicial Council (NJC) has recommended the appointment of four new Justices for the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

The council came to this decision at its meeting held on Tuesday and Wednesday.

9. Nigerian Army Captures 2 Most Wanted Boko Haram Members

Operatives of the Nigerian Army have arrested two Boko Haram sect members who have been on the Nigerian Army’s most-wanted list.

Naija News understands that the arrest of the Boko Haram members was made by the combined troops of 26 Task Force Brigade, elements of Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and 21 Special Armoured Brigade.

10. Super Eagles Drops In FIFA October Rankings

The Super Eagles of Nigeria has dropped one place from 34 to 35 in the latest FIFA world latest rankings.

According to the list released by the world football governing body on Thursday, the Nigeria team maintains its third position in Africa.
