President Muhammadu Buhari will on Monday depart Nigeria to attend a three-day Russia-Africa Summit in Sochi, Russia.

2. Boko Haram: ISWAP, Army Clash Leave Five Dead In Borno

Members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) have killed at least four Nigerian soldiers and a militia fighter in Borno state.

According to security sources who spoke to AFP on Sunday, fighting erupted late Saturday when troops ambushed a convoy of ISWAP members – who broke out of Boko Haram – near Jakana village, 42 kilometres (26 miles) from the state capital Maiduguri.

3. Escaped Kano Lion Captured

A team of experts have re-captured a lion that escaped from a zoo in Kano State, the Managing Director of Kano Zoological Garden, Alhaji Usman Gwadabe, has announced.
