1. President Buhari Departs Nigeria For Russia
President Muhammadu Buhari will on Monday depart Nigeria to attend a three-day Russia-Africa Summit in Sochi, Russia.
Naija News reports that the summit is scheduled to hold on October 23rd to 25th, 2019.
2. Boko Haram: ISWAP, Army Clash Leave Five Dead In Borno
Members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) have killed at least four Nigerian soldiers and a militia fighter in Borno state.
According to security sources who spoke to AFP on Sunday, fighting erupted late Saturday when troops ambushed a convoy of ISWAP members – who broke out of Boko Haram – near Jakana village, 42 kilometres (26 miles) from the state capital Maiduguri.
3. Escaped Kano Lion Captured
A team of experts have re-captured a lion that escaped from a zoo in Kano State, the Managing Director of Kano Zoological Garden, Alhaji Usman Gwadabe, has announced.
Naija News reports that residents in Kano city area spent the night in fear after news of the lion’s escape from the Zoological Garden spread last night.
4. Biafra: IPOB’s Nnamdi Kanu Loses Mother
Ugoeze Sally Nnenne Okwu-Kanu, the mother of the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, is dead.
Naija News reports that Kanu’s mother died August 30 in Germany, the IPOB leader announced in a video sighted by Naija News.

Senator Dino Melaye (APC-Kogi West) has condemned the impeachment of the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Simon Achuba.
Naija News had reported that Achuba was on Friday impeached by the Kogi State House of Assembly.
