1. President Buhari Restricts Foreign Travels For Ministers, Others
In a bid to curb leakages and ensure efficiency in the management of Government resources, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved for immediate implementation, additional cost saving measures aimed at instilling financial discipline and prudence, particularly, in the area of official travels.

2. Minimum Wage: FG Set To Reduce Salaries, Allowances For Governors, Others
Nigeria’s Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, has revealed plans by the federal government to review the wages of political office holders in the country including governors.
He made the revelation in Abuja on Tuesday when he hosted members of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) during a visit to his office.
3. Budget 2020 Passes Second Reading In Senate
The 2020 budget presented by President Muhammadu Buhari during a joint National Assembly sitting last week has passed through the second reading on the floor of the Senate.
Naija News recalls that President Muhammadu Buhari submitted a fiscal budget N10.33trillion to a joint session of the National Assembly for consideration and approval.
4. IMF Predicts Slow GDP Growth For The Nigerian Economy
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has predicted a continued slow growth for Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP)till the end of 2019.
Naija News learnt that the fund stated this in its World Economic Outlook (WEO) for October 2019, released on the sidelines of the ongoing IMF/World Bank Annual Meetings in Washington DC.
5. Minimum Wage: NLC Shuts Offices, Schools In Delta
The Delta state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) on Wednesday, shut offices and schools in Asaba, the Delta state capital.
Naija News understands that the closure of schools and offices comes ahead of the planned strike over delay in the implementation of the new minimum wage.
6. Fire Out-Break At Onitsha Main Market
An inferno on Wednesday struck the Onitsha main market after a truck conveying premium motor spirit (PMS) lost control and rammed into the fence of Toronto Hospital, Upper-Iweka, Onitsha.
Naija News understands that the inferno started when the tanker spilled its product and subsequently ignited the fire outbreak.
7. Secret Recruitment: Job Scandal Rocks Nigerian Senate
The decision by the Senate Committee on Federal Character to investigate alleged cases of secret employment by some federal government agencies is said to be causing disaffection in the Senate.
It was gathered that some of the affected agencies had allocated slots to some lawmakers but the slots were cornered by the principal officers.
8. Nigeria Will Be Like Venezuela If We Meet Labour’s Minimum Wage Demand – FG
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, says Nigeria’s economy will grind to a halt like that of Venezuela if the Federal Government meets the demand of Labour in the new minimum wage regime.
Naija News reports that the Labour and Employment Minister made this comment on Tuesday, a day the Federal Government and Labour representatives resumed negotiations of the full implementation of the new minimum wage.
9. Mamman Daura: Don’t Fight A Battle You Can Not Win – Aisha Buhari Warned
A staunch supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari has warned First Lady Aisha Buhari to desist from any form of confrontation with Mamman Daura.
The supporter, identified as Ibrahim Ali Gombe, gave the charge in an open letter dated 15th October on his Facebook page which has now been obtained by Naija News.
10. Seven Koreans Deported For Life By FG
Seven Koreans have been deported for life, by the Nigerian Immigration Service.
This deportation was carried out by the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Muhammad Babandede, following the approval of the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
